Description
This is a highly ornate sculpture of Lord Ganapathi. He sits on a circular platform with both his legs folded towards his right. The artisans have worked towards detailing the sculpture in various areas including clothing, ornaments the divine objects that the lord holds in his hands, the crown and also the his trunk. He carries a noose (pasha) in his left hand and the elephant goad (ankusha) in his right. These two symbolise the control and the taming of the mind respectively. He is leaning towards his left and through his abhaya hasta he eradicates the fear and stress from the mind and bless people with peace and harmony. The statue is a fine example of the skills of traditional Indian artisans. The sculpture has gone through the process of lacquering and does not lose shine or shade. It can be easily maintained by giving it a wipe using cotton cloth once in few years. The statue can be placed in the living room or the pooja room of the house or it can also be gifted to friends or loved ones during weddings, housewarming ceremony or anniversaries too.
